The 5th Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the Nigerian Association of Dental Public Health (NADPH) took place between 21 February and 24 February 2017 in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, Nigeria. The theme and sub-themes were “Multidisciplinary Collaboration for Better Oral Health of Nigerians” and Common Risk Factor Approach: An Essential Prevention Strategy, Oral Disease Surveillance: A multidisciplinary Responsibility respectively.
The Keynote Speaker was Prof. Oyewale Tomori, a distinguished academic and researcher, who gave a lecture titled “Multidisciplinary collaboration for better oral health of Nigerians”. There were two guest lectures: “Common risk factor approach” by Prof. Oyinkansola Sofola, a foremost public health dentist and “Oral disease surveillance: a multidisciplinary responsibility” by Prof. Olufunmilayo Fawole, a renowned epidemiologist.There were three scientific sessions with a total of 29 oral presentations and 6 abstract presentations.
